According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment of probation officers, correctional treatment specialists, and other law enforcement officials is projected to grow about as fast as average for all occupations through 2014.* A degree in criminal justice may lead to employment opportunities in several areas of the criminal justice system and law enforcement fields including security and surveillance.
